Import duty calculator
Customs duty depends on three things: the tariff code, where the goods were made, and the customs value. Enter them and see the duty measures that apply on your date — with the rate exactly as the authority publishes it.
How import duty is determined
1. Classification
Every product falls under one national tariff code built on the international 6-digit Harmonized System. The duty rate attaches to that code. If you do not know it, the HS code finder narrows it using the legal text of the tariff.
2. Origin
The standard (MFN or third-country) rate applies unless a measure for the country of origin says otherwise: a preference under a trade agreement, an additional tariff, or an anti-dumping duty aimed at specific producers. A preference is never automatic — the goods must meet the agreement’s rules of origin and you must hold proof.
3. Customs value
Most duties are a percentage of the customs value, which is not always the price you paid. Some are charged per kilogram, litre or item, and some combine both. LandedGrid evaluates each form and asks for a quantity only when the rate needs one.
